Situation
Poverty can trap families inside over summer, without the essential items they need to get out with their children, even to visit the local playground. We hear from parents who are forced to regularly forego eating to feed their children; who have to go without basic toiletries, ration nappies or water down formula. All parents want to provide for their children but cannot afford even the basics.
Solution
Thanks to our amazing village of support, we can come together to provide items like a buggy or sling, toys, nappies, feeding equipment and weather appropriate clothing and shoes, to take the pressure off parents and give children the opportunity to experience the joy of summer. Our dedicated signposting and guidance team provide parents with advice and links to other local services, such as food banks, or organisations that support with issues like housing, Universal Credit and mental health.
