We are raising £10,000 to help local young people engage in meaningful environmental work that will improve their wellbeing, connect them with their local natural environment (including Cadle Heath LNR) and help them appreciate, develop and conserve the unique biodiversity on their doorstep.

Situation
The problems are both under loved green spaces and lack of connection to nature in young people struggling with mental health and poverty. The spaces suffer with arson, flytipping and bikes and effects nature’s availability to thrive. A rare urban heathland, at the rear of the farm is full of opportunities for community engagement and education in biodiversity and habitat improvement, connecting, educating and improving the wellbeing of local young people.
Solution
By engaging local young people in a range of educational, volunteering and training opportunities they will learn the skills to care for their local green spaces and how to maximise the use of public spaces for nature recovery. These young people will also improve in confidence, nature connection, access life changing health literacy and be better prepared for jobs in the green economy of the future.
