Wildlife is declining and the bond between people and the natural world is breaking. The way to strengthen that bond is by encouraging everyone to experience and fall in love with wildlife on Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s (LWT) nature reserves, the essential stepping stones towards nature’s recovery.

    Situation

The natural world is in crisis and we are seeing that on our own doorsteps. So many people tell us they are seeing fewer starlings, sparrows, skylarks, red squirrels and hedgehogs. Imagine our great-grandchildren not having the joy of growing up with those iconic creatures on their doorsteps. We must reverse the decline in wildlife because we are dependent on our natural world to survive as a human race. The time to act is now and it can start locally with LWT nature reserves.

    Solution

Have you held your breath as a rare butterfly flutters by, enjoyed the antics of a playful otter or the dazzling flash of the kingfisher? We must protect these incredible nature moments for future generations and inspire wildlife champions. Nature reserves are a fundamental part of nature’s recovery; places where life-long passions to care for the wild begin. Nature is not an exclusive club - it is for everyone. We need to raise vital funds through the Big Give, to support these special places.
