The Baytree Centre in Brixton is a community organization that is trying to address the issue of poverty faced by women and girls in the local area. It aims to provide educational and training opportunities to help these women and girls break the cycle of poverty and improve their life chances. Some of the specific problems the Baytree Centre is trying to solve include: Lack of education and job opportunities: Low self confidence; Isolation; poor wellbeing.

By providing access to education, training, and job readiness programs, we help girls acquire the skills they need to access better jobs and achieve financial stability. We build the confidence and self-esteem of the girls we serve, helping them develop skills that will increase their ability to succeed. Baytree provides a supportive and inclusive community promoting a sense of belonging. Positive activities help girls improve their wellbeing, develop skills and friendships.
