Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation will build on over 20 years of cultural & educational experience to reach more children in need. By engaging with our work, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds will walk a bit taller, dream a bit bigger, and develop the confidence they need for life.

    Situation

Young Londoners from disadvantaged backgrounds often miss the opportunities to develop the skills they need to succeed in life. CSSF recognises the need to level the playing field as economic challenges, disability and other disadvantages widen the attainment gap between young people. With families increasingly making difficult decisions about extra-curricular activities, our work with schools to develop children’s confidence, aspiration and commitment to learning has never been more important.

    Solution

To level the playing field, CSSF focuses on working with schools to provide accessible and creative opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to improve their confidence and life skills. We believe the arts are not a luxury for those with privilege. Our festivals, taking place throughout autumn, winter and spring offer young people the chance to show their creativity, celebrate (and be celebrated) with their peers and build the confidence to set them up for a lifetime of success.
