Waste Not Want Not Battersea tackles two problems in one: firstly it aims to put the tons of perfectly edible nutritious food that goes to waste every day to use, preventing the enormous waste of carbon emissions caused by wasted food. Secondly, it aims to alleviate the impact of food poverty by providing varied, nutritious ingredients and meals to those who need it most.

We tackle these issues by acting as a vehicle between surplus, but nonetheless healthy, nutritious foodstuffs headed for waste and the individuals and communities that could benefit from its use the most. We do this by distributing surplus ingredients on a regular basis, but also by catering for community centres, youth clubs and the local community in our own premises.
