Our pupils are at an educational disadvantage compared to those at independent schools. The school is located within one of the richest and most unequal boroughs in the country. 54% of our pupils are eligible for Free School Meals and lack the networks enjoyed in more affluent groups. Educational enrichments including music and drama, and sports such as rowing are unaffordable to both the school and our pupils' families, and connections to employers eg work placements are not readily available.
Our mission is to broaden the horizons and raise the aspirations of the c1,300 pupils at Kensington Aldridge Academy (KAA), an Ofsted outstanding secondary academy in North Kensington. We open doors to a rich variety of educational enrichments in performing and creative arts, life skills, wellbeing, and sport, and create partnerships to further support these programmes. Examples include instrumental tuition, Duke of Edinburgh Award, rowing, mentoring, Breakfast Club and work experience.
