Phoenix Farm is an award winning green haven located in the white City estate. Comprising of fruit trees, flowers,vegetables with bees, hens & rabbits and a pond.The site is managed on organic principles and provides hand on opportunities for local volunteers,schools and families.https://hcga.org.uk

Situation
The mental and physical benefits of contact with green spaces have been well documented. The farm is situated in the middle of a large social housing estate where every one lives in flats with no access to private gardens the farm provides an opportunity for hands on activities. We are committed to running activities that are free so that there are no barriers to participation. Since covid and the cost of living crisis the demand for our services has increased.
Solution
We want to extend the farm opening hours to include a twilight session one Thursday evenings and Saturdays for local families and volunteers to enjoy the space and take part in seasonal activities activities including planting harvesting and weeding! We will include 3 community food events including the Big Soup Share and a pizza and pumpkin harvest session.
