    Situation

There's a lack of positive environmental news inspiring hope for our planet. We can help solve this problem by broadcasting the full story of South Georgia’s whales, from near extinction in 1965 to their remarkable return to the island’s waters. The whale’s tale at South Georgia is a rare and powerful example of ecological recovery that can become a beacon of hope for conservation activities worldwide. By sharing this story we will also highlight how people can protect whales into the future.

    Solution

Art is the most powerful way to tell a story, so we're installing an artwork at South Georgia to engage and inspire 15,000+ visitors per year with the whale’s extraordinary tale. From commemorating the 175,000 lost whales to celebrating their remarkable recovery, the artwork will show that nature heals if given a chance and inspire hope for our planet. It will stand for at least 50 years and invite visitors to support vital research and environmental management protecting whales into the future.
