Your funding will provide children growing up in disadvantaged, urban areas with a unique outdoor experience that can help them build a lifelong connection to nature. By supporting TCV, you will support the running of a series of Wild Days out events for 1,500 children around the country in 2023.

Young children growing up in cities around the UK have less access to green spaces and are more likely to miss out on spending time, exploring, playing outdoors with friends, and feeling safe and connected to nature. And a recent report shows that 87% of children and young people say that spending time outdoors makes them feel very happy, it increases their health and wellbeing, delivers educational benefits, and helps the children feel that nature is accessible.
This year, we want to run 52 wild days out for urban schools. The days will provide every child with a unique experience, help them develop new skills, ignite their curiosity in nature and give them lasting memories to take home. Our staff are experienced in delivering children’s events and will provide activities such as den building, bug hunting, bird watching and nature crafts and games. The emphasis will be on having fun and will build the children’s confidence and engagement with nature.
