For the people working in wildlife conservation, it’s the everyday items that make a difference. Help us raise £30,000 for ordinary items that help extraordinary heroes protect Asia’s endangered big cats and their habitats in an increasingly crowded world.

Situation
Wild tigers have lost 93% of their historic range and their numbers have declined from approx.100,000 to fewer than 5,000 in just 120 years. Amur leopards share a range with Amur tigers, are critically endangered and fewer than 100 remain in the wild. Both cats face unrelenting pressures from poaching, retaliation and habitat loss. For wildlife conservationists, whether scientists, educators or rangers, it’s the ordinary items keeping them safe, healthy and effective that are often underfunded.
Solution
Through funding carefully chosen conservation projects, WildCats aims to establish conditions where tigers and Amur leopards can thrive. We find ways for people and wildlife to live together safely, and to increase the skills, knowledge and capacity of wildlife conservation guardians. Staff need everyday items, such as boots, batteries, fuel, tyres, first aid kits and cooking equipment to increase their effectiveness and keep them safe. We will fill a funding gap for these ordinary essentials.
