Cumbria Action for Sustainability’s vision is a zero carbon Cumbria which is socially, environmentally and economically beneficial for all. We are fundraising to support our work helping local communities to adopt low carbon living solutions which have a real, positive impact on people and planet.

The urgency of the climate crisis and the scale and speed of reduction in greenhouse gases now needed, requires rapid action throughout all of society. As authors of the recent IPCC report state, we have reached the '"now or never point"'. To de-carbonise the whole of Cumbria is a big task and we are on a mission to engage with all aspects of life in our community to achieve it. We have begun to make progress, but we know we need to do more to reach our zero carbon goal by 2037 or sooner.
We currently focus on the following key areas to inspire and facilitate positive climate action: energy, food, communities, education and training and our Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership. Further funding will help us to increase the reach and influence of our work so that we can support more people to make the changes necessary to move us all closer to our net zero target.
