Our theatre adjoins Manchester’s most deprived area, among the most disadvantaged wards in the country. When we go into local schools, many pupils tell us they love to perform but have never seen live theatre: the city centre’s theatre offer seems distant, unaffordable. We see great ideas and huge talent, but children must see themselves reflected on professional stages if they are to be inspired, to aspire to a future in the performing arts. We believe the magic of theatre belongs to everyone.

We will offer local young people a first trip to the theatre, free of charge – to enjoy high-quality, professionally produced theatre (CINDERELLA, the musical) in a familiar, friendly setting, close to home. They will meet the diverse cast and crew to find out what making theatre is all about, and will be encouraged to join our Theatre School (with bursaries offered), to develop their own talents and skills and take their own place as performers on our stages.
