This campaign has now closed
LandAid is the property industry charity aiming to end youth homelessness. As part of the Big Give's matched funding campaign, we are making an appeal to our supporters to make a contribution towards emergency accommodation for young people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness.

Situation
Emergency accommodation options for young people were severely curtailed during Covid. With social distancing rules and the spread of covid, many projects were closed down temporarily. This was not as big a problem as it could have been during the initial stages of the pandemic due to the ‘Everyone In’ campaign led by the government which saw over 37,000 homeless people accommodated temporarily However, since the end of this initiative in 2021, the need for emergency housing has risen again.
Solution
As part of our emergency accommodation campaign, LandAid is providing targeted funding to charities around the UK who run Nightstops (voluntary hosting schemes) to recruit more hosts. Their hosting capacity was massively reduced during covid and is still a long-way from pre-pandemic levels. We also recently helped launch a Winter Relief Fund for Young Londoners. Through this fund, young people will be able to access small grants to enable them to keep themselves warm, clothed and with a roof over the head this winter in the face of spiralling costs. We would like to grow this fund, and replicate it elsewhere in the UK
