Escape Arts are raising funds for the Surprise Santa 'Grotto-on-the-go' project. We take the big man, his wonderful grotto and all his presents to families who cannot access a traditional grotto or who have experienced trauma, family breakdown, bereavement and illness, to make lasting memories.

Christmas is popularly referred to as 'the most wonderful time of the year', a time to come together and spend with loved ones and make memories. This narrative does not acknowledge the fact that many people experience isolation, poor mental health and hardship at Christmas as a result of factors such as financial difficulty, bereavement and family break-up. Our project seeks to address this by bringing families and community groups together to give presents, spread joy and make memories.

Christmas 2022 will be the sixth Christmas Escape Arts has organised the Surprise Santa visits where we have previously visited hundreds of families across Warwickshire in distress and most in need of support at Christmas. We acknowledge that whilst we cannot change the circumstances for these families or take the pain away, we are able to give them the chance to come together and make lasting memories and give them a unique experience that will stay with them forever.
