Smart Works Scotland gives unemployed women the clothes, coaching and confidence to succeed at job interview. 72% get the job. At a time of exceptional need, we want to open a new centre in Glasgow allowing more women in Scotland to reconnect with their potential and transform their lives.

Situation
Smart Works exists to break the cycle of unemployment for women in disadvantaged circumstances. The pandemic has deepened inequality and had a devastating impact on female unemployment, disproportionately affecting women from ethnic minorities. This has affected the confidence and self-esteem of women who are rejected from multiple interviews and struggling to get a job. We know there are more women who need our help to start a new chapter of independence for themselves and their families.
Solution
We are seeking donations to open a new centre in the heart of Glasgow, enabling women across Greater Glasgow to be within reach of the service. The Smart Works service is transformational. Every woman benefits from a bespoke dressing consultation, a high-quality interview outfit (free and hers to keep) and one-to-one interview coaching. This equips her with the confidence and practical skills to overcome barriers to success.
