Hunger has no place in 21st century Britain. We are working with partners as diverse as food banks and local community food organisations, politicians and companies, to make sure it becomes a thing of the past.

4.7 million adults in the UK experienced food insecurity in the past month. 2 million children live in households without access to a healthy, affordable diet. The rising costs of living are putting increasing numbers of families at risk of hunger. Foodbanks, set up to provide short-term emergency food support to those in crisis, are under greater strain than ever. We need to support households before they fall into crisis, and to provide stepping stones to get people back on their feet quickly.

Feeding Britain’s work combines access to low-cost food with intensive help for children and families, alongside support with rising fuel bills and other issues. Our Affordable Food Clubs offer nutritious, affordable food in a dignified setting. These settings provide a “hand up, not a hand out” – they create a more positive and less stigmatised experience. Our Clubs also provide wider support including expert advice, communal growing, cookery, and holiday clubs for children and families.
