With this grant, we will fund a 5-day trip to Hindleap Warren for Club members. Hindleap Warren, an adventure centre in the Ashdown Forest, focuses on supporting young people and providing them with new and challenging opportunities and experiences they would not otherwise have access to.

    Situation

With many young people coming from homes on tight family budgets, with access to few affordable engaging experiences, trips such as this are a rare opportunity for our members. With most of our members living in Westminster and other inner-city boroughs, members have limited access to wide open spaces, adventure areas and often, therefore, a lack of awareness of green issues and the environment.

    Solution

St Andrew’s Club will offer members from low-income, local families the opportunity to take part in a fun, exciting trip to an adventure centre, providing new opportunities and experiences, including an introduction to the ideas surrounding sustainability, its importance, and the impact that human lives can have upon the climate.
