Smart Works Leeds supports unemployed women with the clothes, coaching and confidence to succeed in their job interviews. 71% successfully gain jobs within a month. Due to demand, we want to support more women in Leeds and extend our service to Bradford, enabling more women to transform their lives.

Situation
Smart Works Leeds exists to break the cycle of unemployment for women in disadvantaged circumstances across Yorkshire. The pandemic has deepened inequality and had a devastating impact on female unemployment, disproportionately affecting women from ethnic minorities. This has affected the confidence of women in Leeds and Bradford who are rejected from multiple interviews and struggling to gain a job. We want to reach more women who need our help to start a new chapter of independence.
Solution
Our Smart Works service is transformational. Every woman benefits from a bespoke dressing consultation, a high-quality interview outfit (free and hers to keep), and one-to-one interview coaching. This equips her with the confidence and practical skills to overcome barriers to success. Our mission is for every woman in Yorkshire to be able to access our service. To continue to do this, we need to invest in outreach in the local community, so that we can support more women in Leeds and Bradford.
