Over 50,000 badgers are tragically killed on our roads each year. Many thousand more fall victim to wildlife crime. Our Be there for badgers campaign will help Badger Trust extend our support to badgers in need and be there for every badger who needs us.

Situation
Two of the biggest threats to badgers are wildlife crime and road traffic accidents. Badger crime is prolific in all areas of the country with crimes from badger baiting to sett blocking remaining prevalent long after the Protection of Badgers Act was established. Traffic is also a great threat to badgers with a fifth of the adult population being killed on the roads each year. Badgers consistently top the list of most numerous victims of road traffic accidents of mammal species.
Solution
Badger Trust exists to promote and enhance the welfare, conservation and protection of badgers, their setts, and their habitats. We are the leading voice for badgers in England and Wales, with a network of around 50 local voluntary badger groups, and supported by thousands of supporters and followers. This project will fund the extension of the operating hours of our dedicated Reporting Centre and wildlife crime resource, allowing us to be there for more badgers in need.
