A future out of the grinding poverty and horrendous conditions of the dumpsite is a massive challenge for these vulnerable children. Failure in the state educational system is endemic in this population, children drop out of school, many needing to work to meet the family's basic needs. With no money available even for absolute essentials, the costs of going to school become impossible. Some children have nowhere safe to live and need sanctuary.
Solution
Donations to our charity provide scavenger children with a range of support to help them achieve their potential through education. - A free school for 4-6 year olds, giving them the head start necessary to succeed in main stream education - A scholarship scheme for ages 6-25 to maintain them in education instead of dropping out to work as scavengers - A residential home for children with nowhere safe to live.
