Callbacks and Ongoing Support Service. In addition to the SANE helpline, we offer a service called 'Callbacks' where we call people back who are happy to leave their number. To keep this service we need to recruit more ongoing support officers to help those we feel need urgent additional support.

SANE has started a more specialised ongoing support service where we offer up to 12 weeks of phone support from the same person – this is aimed at helping move people who may be stuck into accessing medical, therapeutic or statutory services. We are looking into raising enough to fund an ongoing support officer for a year to help with this work.
SANE needs 30k to fund an ongoing support officer for a year. The officer will support the busy team. Our callers tell us that they know that, as a team, everyone at SANE genuinely cares – and this is one of our aims. We challenge people, we laugh with people, we call them on difficult anniversaries or before appointments, and we notice when and try to connect with people disengage.
