Despite the well-evidenced transformational impact that music has on children’s lives, music education is facing sever crisis. Thousands of children are being denied important creative opportunities with 68% of primary school teachers reporting reduced music provision, and extra-curricular activities wiped out ‘in 72% of primary schools' (ISM, 2020). Without immediate intervention, children will lose out on music's transfomative benefits for their confidence, wellbeing, skills and aspirations.

With your support, ETO will create and tour a bespoke new opera for children in Key Stage Two, giving over 5,000 children the opportunity to access and enjoy their first live, participatory opera. Touring to 30 primary schools across the UK, 'The Wish Gatherer' will bring children together to learn about nature and the environment through a new artistic medium, championing cross-curricular learning in primary schools across the UK and stimulating new creative interests and aspirations.
