Our children will have experienced early life trauma and the lack of post-adoption support for parents whilst working through these challenges can have multiple implications , including: Feelings of isolation Compassion-fatigue which can impact on children's mental health. Potential for adoption breakdown Having identified peer-to-peer support as a large gap in post-adoption provision, WAF membership is free to adopters at all stages providing vital community and support.

Our mission is to ensure that all adoptive parents have access to our community, offering each other support from a place of lived experience, through the highs and lows of parenting. We achieve this through online and in-person programmes including: ​Peer Support Groups Family Friendly Events WAF Talks programme And member-generated Blog and Podcast We rely on the generosity of our funders to keep membership free, so that all adoptive parents can join our unique and inclusive community.
