Disease outbreaks, the climate emergency, and conflict are hurting millions of people each year. And that number is growing. It’s a global health crisis that affects us all, but it’s the world’s poorest people who suffer the most. With crises becoming more frequent and severe, their consequences will be far more widespread and wide-ranging, impacting people around the globe, not just in the directly affected areas.

We have 3 pillars of action: respond, prepare, and learn. We recruit and rigorously train NHS medics, so that along with our global network of health professionals, we’re on-call to get to disaster zones at 24 hours’ notice and save lives. We focus on capacity-building and preparation, helping rebuild local healthcare systems and empower staff to respond against outbreaks or disasters.We support and promote research projects focussed on sharing learning and improving responses across the sector.
