This campaign has now closed
As the cost of living bites deeper this winter we will be offering a warm, safe space and hot meals for refugee children and young people in our Homework Clubs and Study Groups. This will help keep them safe and warm, build their confidence, make friends and further their education. We need your support to make this happen.

Situation
27% of children in London live in poverty: soaring utility and food costs are affecting their education. The refugee young people we work with are struggling even more. They are already substantially behind at every educational Key Stage and they now face further additional barriers to learning: - Hunger - Studying in cold homes, with the family crowded in one heated room - Anxiety about family finances - Living in damp homes which doubles the incidence of respiratory disease - Missed school days They face a tough winter ahead as they continue trying to flourish in their education.
Solution
This winter we will be offering a warm, safe space and hot meals for children and young people. Our passionate staff and dedicated volunteers provide mentoring, homework clubs and youth clubs as well as casework and advocacy, all based out of our warm and welcoming community centre. They can get help with their homework, build confidence, develop social skills and develop independence and resilience. They will also be able to access specialist support with their mental health and wellbeing.
