Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre offers trauma informed support to women and girls who’ve experienced sexual violence. The cost of living crisis is worsening the barriers survivors face when trying to accessing support. Please help us to increase accessibility to our service to overcome these barriers.

Situation
Transport costs? Childcare? Language barrier? Survivors from marginalised and disadvantaged backgrounds face additional and unique barriers engaging with services. This can prevent them from accessing support. Our specialist support is life-changing. It is vital survivors do not lose out on the opportunity of recovery because they cannot afford to travel to their appointment, pay for childcare, do not have a digital device for video support or do not speak English as their first language.
Solution
We are fundraising for an Access Fund which will help overcome these barriers. It will cover transport, childcare and interpreter costs for those who could not otherwise attend support. Digital access is a lifeline for those who cannot attend support in person and we will lend survivors devices and buy mobile data/top-up cards for them be able to access support online. This will enable our support service to further reach survivors affected by poverty, economic hardship and social exclusion.
