Supporting patients and families to spend quality time together because time is precious, especially when it is someone’s last Christmas. Patients with complex needs are suffering in pain. People at end of life with complex medical needs can face the unwelcome prospect of spending their last Christmas in hospital, away from everything that is familiar to them. Providing 24/7 care at home for a loved one who is at end of life is a very challenging experience.

The Hospice’s Inpatient Unit provides outstanding specialist palliative care and symptom management that keeps patients pain-free and as comfortable as possible and gives an opportunity to enjoy Christmas with their families. Patients have their own bedroom with private patio and families can stay overnight to spend quality time with their loved one. Christmas is extra special with carol singing, Christmas presents for each patient bought by staff and delicious nutritious Christmas dinners.
