Tackling inequality takes a whole community, and PMF aims to harness the power of music to action real change in one of London’s most complex inner-city boroughs. Our free music education programmes give people from all walks of life the support and resources they need to reach their full potential.

Despite appearances, Pimlico contains areas of considerable deprivation and we aim to create a level playing field for all residents. We know cultural activities support wellbeing, improve educational engagement, build confidence, offer a sense of belonging, and give access to beneficial networks that can improve life chances. However, not everyone has access to these kinds of opportunities and resources and we aim to change that.

Over the past seven years, PMF has developed an extensive range of free musical activities that engage local people on a weekly basis. We are embedded in seven local primary schools working with over 800 pupils. We run an extra-curricular Children's Choir, an Adult Chorus, a Community Choir, and advanced musical training to our Foundation Scholars, for young people with the talent and commitment to work at a high level. Each term we put on professional quality concerts to over 400 people.
