1in5 women experience sexual assault*, one of the most devastating violations that anyone can experience. Depression, guilt, self-harm and suicidal thoughts are all common reactions. Yet many survivors fall through the cracks when accessing help; their needs may not reach thresholds for acute services, but they are unable to afford alternatives. We offer free therapeutic support to all but, with a long waiting list, short term interventions are desperately needed. *Rape Crisis England and Wales

We work from a firm belief that survivors are best placed to identify their own paths to recovery, and that by bringing women with similar experiences together they create a supportive community and start to heal from trauma. By delivering additional groupwork sessions we can offer vital short-term support to those on our counselling waiting list, ensuring survivors get access to the support they need and deserve as quickly as possible.
