The £1.4 million RAPTOR Theatre will treat patients across Greater Manchester with complex life-threatening multiple trauma injuries, performing scans and procedures in one place; saving precious time and reducing patient risks. This 'one-stop shop' will save lives and improve patient outcomes.

Situation
Speed is of the essence when you’ve got multiple complex life-threatening major trauma injuries. Currently it’s unavoidable for patients to have to be moved across multiple areas of the hospital for scans, diagnostics, specialist treatments and surgery. This exposes them to risk of infection and other potentially serious complications. It is a race against time as every transfer increases the chance of long-term complications, disabilities and increased risk of death.
Solution
With your support, the pioneering RAPTOR Theatre (Resuscitation, Angiography, Percutaneous Techniques and Operative Repair) will transform the treatment for our major trauma patients across the North West. The theatre will save precious time and avoid moving critically ill patients from one location to another, increasing the patient’s chances of survival, better quality of life and quicker recovery. The theatre goes above and beyond the scope of the NHS and will be the first in the UK.
