Coronavirus brought the world to its knees. The devastation was particularly bad in India. Job losses meant girls in India experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child marriage. Every year, 1.5 million girls in India are forced to marry. The cultural norm, cash-strapped families, and parents wanting to avoid the financial 'burden' of raising a daughter, means child marriage in India is on the rise.

Our partner VOICE 4 Girls is experienced in working with girls, their families and within communities. It will: - teach children their rights, including that child marriage is illegal - empower children to advocate and campaign against child marriage - create a safe space and support network - help families understand the consequences of child marriage - work with communities to make sure girls are valued - support girls to stay in school and continue learning, lifting them out of poverty
