We are raising funds to provide low cost long term counselling (LTC) specifically for BAME and low income women (earning below £20,000). Mental health problems and poverty go together, so we aim to help vulnerable women improve their mental health, by providing them with long term counselling

The Pandemic caused a mental health crisis for women. During lockdowns Women lost jobs, provided childcare and schooling and experienced increased levels of mental distress and domestic violence. This was the case in Camden, where according to the 2021 Camden Council Domestic Abuse Policy Report, “Camden’s dedicated domestic abuse service, Camden Safety Net, has received an increase in referrals from mental health services and self-referrals from victims/survivors throughout the last year”.
We would like to provide 200 low cost (£1-£5 cost) counselling sessions to low income (income under £20,000) and BAME women. BAME women and women on a low income have suffered disproportionately during the Pandemic. We have a waiting list of potential clients who have previously used our short term counselling service, which is free. We will also recruit clients externally, advertising via social media and our website, and via our networks.
