Mental health is an important part of well-being and essential for living a happy life. But mental health problems are a common human experience, affecting around one in four people in any given year. Mental health conditions can have a substantial effect on all areas of life. When experiencing illness people can end up socially isolated and lacking activity. We were started, and have since developed, to meet the need all people have to be socially engaged and take part in meaningful activity.

We offer non-clinical services to support local people’s mental health and wellbeing in the community. Through social prescribing we offer a unique source of strength and peer support. Adults with different degrees of mental and physical ill-health benefit from our free therapeutic art and horticulture placements. We have developed an integrative approach so people can come together as co-workers with volunteers to access activities that meet their wider emotional, physical, and social needs.
