We support individuals to find freedom from addiction through a holistic programme of medical, spiritual, and community support, through training teams based in churches to reach their community.

The primary issue we seek to address is drug and alcohol addiction. We seek to address the physical dependence on substances, the underlying emotional issues, and the wide range of related practical and relational issues that addiction causes. Those affected use compulsively, which destroys relationships and has a devastating impact on physical and mental health. Addiction also impacts families and communities, often leading to family separation, unemployment, welfare dependency and even crime.
Our volunteers are trained to provide medically safe drug and alcohol detox within the community using protocols developed by clinical experts and overseen by our Medical Team. Alongside detox support, our programme helps clients address the deep, emotional issues that are often at the root of the addiction, through weekly recovery groups, the 12-steps, and other focused recovery support. Our Befrienders support clients to access other services in their community to address other areas of need.
