Our Domestic Abuse Helpline dealt with over 14,478 calls last year (an increase of 27%), and the cost of living crisis we’re all facing indicates this will only continue to grow this year. Under increasing financial pressures, people who are experiencing domestic abuse are feeling less able to flee their situations. Many victims are staying in abusive environments because they don’t want to put financial pressure on friends or family, and they simply can’t afford to leave.
Solution
Help At All Costs will make sure support is readily available for anyone reaching out. First Light offer a client fund, providing emergency assistance where possible to ensure everyone’s needs are met. We’ll be here, whether people reach out via telephone, email, messenger or Livechat. Our skilled frontline workers can support individuals taking the first steps on their journey and talk through their options, even when they feel like all hope is lost, ensuring they know what help is out there
