here are at estimated 10,000 people who require a wheelchair in the rural Tabora region of Tanzania. Most live in poverty. There are no services for people with mobility impairment in the area. We want to give some of those people hope, opportunity and a better future.
Just Wheels provide our recipients with a wheelchair, physiotherapy, empowerment training and the opportunity to get support with education. So far we have helped 125 people, helping them and their families. We also are working to improve opportunities for people with mobility impairments more broadly, improving access to schools and building a mobility centre which will house a wheelchair workshop, physiotherapy clinic and space for training.
