As children and young people’s need for effective mental health support increases, the current crisis in service provision worsens. It’s critical that children and young people have adequate support when they need it, rather than waiting until their problems escalate. We work with children who are at risk for trafficking and exploitation, and with young victims and survivors: they are being badly let down. They need urgent help, and specialist support is severely lacking. Every day matters.

We will pilot weekly one-to-one therapeutic, trauma-informed interventions with qualified counsellors for six young people for a period of 12 weeks. The client-led, child-centred sessions will see counsellors and young people embark on a journey together, setting personal objectives with an overall focus on recovery and empowerment. The young people will be supported to understand mental health and wellbeing, and will learn skills and build strategies to promote it.
