The UK’s busiest mountain paths need help. Every year Snowdonia Society volunteers help maintain footpaths across the National Park, including Snowdon’s busy Llanberis path which is used by over 250,000 people per year. Your support makes it possible to look after landscapes we all treasure.

Situation
Footpaths keep people safe in the mountains. They protect nearby delicate species and habitats from the threat of erosion. But the paths need our help. Erosion and poor drainage are common on the network of paths that thread through our National Park. With record numbers of visitors, it’s vital that we maintain our upland and lowland paths for the benefit of people and nature for years to come. And well-maintained paths last much longer, getting the best value from every single metre.
Solution
We have a track record of bringing people together to look after Snowdonia. With your help we will train, equip and lead more volunteer footpath teams. We will deliver more maintenance days on these important upland and lowland routes, resulting in more kilometres of path in good condition and doing their job for another season. The more you help us raise through the Green Match fund, the greater our reach, recruiting more helpers and adding more footpath days onto our busy calendar.
