At Safe Families we believe that no one should feel alone. As we continue to support isolated families across the UK we are also expanding into new areas including London.

Families can face crisis moments such as unemployment, substance misuse, debt, illness, or family breakdown. The risks can accumulate & some parents can struggle to provide a safe & caring environment for their children. These difficulties are elevated if the parent/carer is isolated. This can put children at risk and without the timely provision of respite, companionship and practical help these situations can, and frequently do, result in public systems having to intervene.

Safe Families has developed a community led-approach to supporting struggling families who are at risk of children being removed into Local Authority Care. This is done through training and connecting local volunteers with local families who need support. Safe Families have delivered this model with 5,000+ families and 7,000 volunteers across 34 local authority areas in the UK. Safe Families volunteers support families in three ways: Hosting stays for children, Befriending & Practical resources.
