Mums are never more needed than when their child is sick. For the mums we support, whose children are seriously ill, it really can be the hardest job in the world. We're there to help them find the strength they need, through the toughest of times, when caring for themselves is last on their list.

Situation
There are around 1,800 new cancer cases in children cancer cases in the UK every year, that's around 5 every day. 67% of carers experience anxiety and 42% experience depression. Of these over three quarters do not receive any support. Diagnosis of life threatening childhood illness can lead to significant distress reactions in parents, with many experiencing clinically significant levels of post-traumatic stress symptoms. These symptoms can have long-term adverse impacts on parent mental health
Solution
Momentum Children’s Charity has over 17 years experience of supporting mums every step of the way, from hospital to home and beyond. From providing Wellness Packs to every mum whose child is currently undergoing treatment, to a mum-buddy support programme offering peer support. Every mum will be allocated a dedicated Family Support Worker, who is there to make the ‘new normal’ feel less complicated; to offer practical advice and guidance so that no one feels like they’re facing the future alone.
