We support women to improve their mental health and to recover from abuse. In 2021, TWH supported 542 women with 49% suffering from anxiety, 43% suffering from depression, 12% suffering from PTSD, and 28% suffering from domestic abuse. 70% reported feeling isolated. 105 women reported they had self-harmed in the past 12 months, 198 women reported having suicidal feelings in the past 12 months. Mental health need has increased, and social isolation has also significantly increased.
We will continue to provide mental health interventions such as open access services available from day one, which includes drop in sessions, creative groups, physical activities, online. We will offer targeted services such as mental health courses, support groups and counselling services. We support women who have been affected by domestic abuse by offering bespoke courses and support groups. Many of our open access services have no time limit and enable women to build peer support networks.
