In the UK, 55k women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year with 34% having chemotherapy treatment. 36k women live with incurable (secondary) breast cancer, a recognised disability, & 31 die from it every day. There are many possible side effects to chemotherapy, which can be gruelling, both physically and mentally, and each person may experience them in varying intensities. It can be a very difficult process and many people experience breast cancer treatment as a lonely and difficult time.

Working in close partnership with the NHS, we work with 9 hospitals in East Anglia so that every secondary breast cancer patient can receive a littlelifts box. Oncology teams directly hand out boxes to patients during their treatment. Our boxes contain 20+ carefully chosen items aimed to relieve the side effects of treatment such as nausea, bone ache and fatigue. Women tell us that the sense of solidarity & kindness they experience when they receive their box is just as valuable as the contents.
