Mental health and ensuring good wellbeing is more present than ever after the year we’ve all had. Families have been pushed to the limits; many have been shielding for over a year and continue to, to protect their child. Some cannot have the vaccine given their medical conditions because the risk or unknown side-effects present grave danger, others are still waiting and as children are not being prioritised, they do not know when this will be. Our nursing care must continue in all its forms.
By offering existing and renewed services within strict, necessary infection control guidelines to give children and families the personalised expert nursing care they need for their current and developing requirements. Providing step down from hospital, therapies, respite care, end of life care and bereavement support. Our new collaborative partnership working is vital to aid transition to adult services and our planned sibling and grandparents only activities make these groups feel less alone.
