With youth provision declining, many are forced to hang out on the streets, increasing the risk of trouble and isolation. We create a safe space using music to build confidence, improve mental well-being and develop essential skills for brighter futures. Join us in making a lasting difference.

    Situation

Everyone loves music! But young people from challenging circumstances in Gloucestershire face huge inequalities in access to music education and progression into a creative career. According to UK Music, only 15% of children at state schools receive sustained music tuition, compared to 50% at independent schools and these figures are even lower if you factor in poverty, disability and rural isolation. Furthermore, these groups are then half as likely to get paid work in the creative industries.

    Solution

We use music as a tool to change young people’s lives. We provide accessible music programmes, focusing on those with the highest need. We offer a range of programmes to do this, with the “how” we deliver, just as important as “what” we deliver. We create a safe and inclusive space for young people to express themselves, develop confidence and self-belief, and build social connections. Our leaders are strong role models, often with lived experience of challenging circumstances.
