RISE uses art to ignite the power within young people experiencing marginalisation. Amplify is our youth-led skills-development, podcast and event project that creatively explores powerful themes, showcases marginalised artists, builds transferable skills and strengthens young people's portfolios.

Marginalisation is a deliberate act by dominant groups to exclude those that challenge their dominance. Young people are often considered the greatest threat to the status quo and negative stereotypes are used to justify their exclusion through institutionalised structures that try to keep some young people silenced and submissive. This not only negatively impacts their opportunities, well-being and self-belief but perpetuates inequality and limits the potential and health of our whole society.

Amplify is a powerful 10-month project equipping marginalised young people with the skills to independently produce their own podcasts and live events. A youth collective is supported to create a season of RISE's Amplify, using creative forms to explore important political, social and personal themes and culminating in a live performance event. Participants will also have the opportunity to host an online radio show. Previous seasons have explored Lockdown, Queer Joy and Emerging Futures.
