Creative Communities presents a dynamic participatory arts programme for people young & old from across Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly. In 2024 we will reach over 130,000 people through accessible experiences which enhance wellbeing, decrease isolation & enable access to creativity and culture.

Situation
Economic and social disadvantage continue to hold back communities in Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly from reaching their potential. Low earnings, rural isolation & poor infrastructure have a detrimental effect on community mental health. This inhibits collaborative action against big issues like climate change, housing shortages and inequality. While the Creative Industries are an area of economic growth, accessibility remains an issue for many residents who lack pathways to participate.
Solution
For 40 years, we have contributed to positive social & economic change which has had regional & national impact. Our programmes & projects enable engagement in free or accessibly priced arts activities, reaching people from across Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly. Participation in the arts is proven to improve health, confidence & cohesion. Our approach – co-creating culture with communities - builds strong foundations for positive change including vital employment skills & collaborative networks.
