In the last year we all relied on digital solutions; going to work virtually, maintaining hobbies and connecting with our loved ones. For people we support, like Mark, the pandemic has been extremely isolating. “It’s made him lonely and there’s been a lack of stimulation” says mum, Cheryl. The digital divide has exacerbated feelings of isolation and inaccessible, unadapted technology and a lack of confidence or skills to use it means that as the world moves online, people are being left behind

For people like Mark, simply providing a personal device, which he’s never had before, will keep him connected. As well as providing specially adapted devices and accessible software we will support people with learning disabilities to gain the digital skills and confidence needed to access the online world independently and safely. Now Mark has his own device and the skills to use it, he is able to be virtually connected with his friends which brings him joy and a sense of belonging.
