Our children struggle with maths and literacy. Teachers use traditional ‘chalk and talk’ methods, teaching at relentless speeds due to inflexible curriculums. Class sizes are large; average teacher to pupil ratio is 49:1 in primary and 56:1 in lower secondary. 100 pupils per class is common. With large classes, few teachers, cramped/hot classrooms, no/poor sanitation, children struggle to learn. Their days are very long, rising early, working, and walking long distances which puts them at risk.

Edulution uses fun, interactive techniques and e-learning to provide additional numeracy and literacy support to the most vulnerable children, after school. Pupils work at their own pace, using experiential techniques. Numeracy has improved by 35%, logic based exams 24% and non-related subject results 8%,due to increased confidence and problem solving skills. The programme will support Grade 4-Grade 7 children (ages 10-13),referred by their schools for support. We will also train 10 coaches.
