In the current context, high-quality dance is not reaching enough people. Issues of isolation and disconnection have only deepened during the pandemic. However, greater online access to content has led to increased arts engagement by disabled audiences during lockdown. Many young people have not been introduced to this famous and important ballet or Stravinsky’s ground-breaking score. Large-scale live tours of dance productions can have a significant carbon footprint.

We will create an at-home, multi-user experience, allowing members of the public in different locations to experience the performance and participate together in the virtual world. Our “dance autotune system” allows participants to feel that they’re moving like a trained dancer. Using artificial intelligence, any small action or gesture is enhanced to resemble a choreographed dance movement. Users’ actions guide a narrative that reflects on collective choice and our relationship to nature.
